The group works at the Centre for Biotechnology in University of Turku and at Turku University Hospital and is lead by Dr. Mikko Savontaus. 

The focus of our group is to develop novel gene therapy strategies for cancer and vascular diseases with an emphasis on vector and transgene targeting. Our current projects include targeted gene therapy for head and neck cancer and the development of novel promoters for anti-angiogenic and cardiovascular gene therapy.
