Gene Transfer Technology Group |
The Gene Transfer Technology Group works at the A.I.Virtanen Institute, in University of Kuopio. The group is lead by Dr. Riikka Pellinen, PhD and it comprises 1 postdoctoral fellow, 6 graduate students and 1 laboratory technician.

Our main goal is to develop better tools for cancer gene therapy research. We are espesially interested in improving the performance of virus vectors, either by studying the features of established vector types (for example, lentiviruses) or by developing new vector systems (for example, alphavirus-like particles).
